ABOUT THE NORWALK PUBLIC LIBRARY

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Organized under the mandate of Connecticut General Statutes Sec. 11-33, and the City of Norwalk City Code Chapter 87, the Norwalk Public Library Board of Directors "consist of none (9) members, five (5) of whom shall be appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the Common Council, two (2) of whom shall be appointed by the Commissioners of the First Taxing District and two (2) of whom shall be appointed by the Commissioners of the Second Taxing District..."

"The purpose of this Board shall be to provide public library service to the City of Norwalk."
